The Upper Margibi ISSA League resumed this week (Thursday, April 9,2026) at the Nancy B. Doe Stadium in Kakata, as the 2025–2026 season reached the decisive quarterfinal stage in both kickball and football.
Kickball Quarterfinals
Thursday’s fixtures marked the final games of the quarterfinal stage.
George V. Gibson United Methodist High School continued their dominant run with an emphatic 8–0 victory over Better Foundation Academy. In the second match, Botoe Barclay High School maintained their perfect record, securing a narrow 3–2 win against St. Augustine Episcopal Mission High School.
These results confirmed semifinal qualification for both George V. Gibson and Botoe Barclay, while Better Foundation Academy and St. Augustine Episcopal Mission High School were eliminated.
They now join Redeem High School and St. Paul Lutheran High School in the semifinals.
Redeem secured their spot earlier with a 1–0 win over Lango Lippaye High School.
St. Paul Lutheran advanced via penalty shootout against Project High School after a goalless draw.
Football Quarterfinals
In the football competition, Thursday’s matches also delivered intense action.
Better Foundation Academy edged George V. Gibson United Methodist High School after a 1–1 draw, winning 3–0 in penalty shootouts. Goalkeeper Augustus Toby was the standout performer, saving three penalties to become the hero of the match.
In the second fixture, Agape High School booked their semifinal ticket after winning on penalties following a scoreless full-time result.
These victories see Better Foundation Academy and Agape High School join Shelia Love Foundation High School and Lango Lippaye High School in the semifinals.
Earlier results:
Shelia Love Foundation High School defeated Project High School 2–0, with both goals coming in the second half.
Lango Lippaye High School overcame St. Paul Lutheran High School via penalty shootout after a 2–2 draw.
Shelia Love Foundation High School also set a notable record as the only team to win their quarterfinal match during regulation time in the football competition.
