SPORTS: Huge Boost For Christ United Football Academy

As we await the most anticipated Under -15 & Under -17 National Classic League, Christ United Football Academy (CUFA) gets huge boost in preparation of such the competition scheduled for this year.

The Barnesville Estate based academy Christ United Football Academy (CUFA) receives two donations from two Liberian outside Liberia on Thursday,4 July 2024 at the team’s practice training site at the Grace Baptist High School Sports Pitch in Barnesville Estate, outside Monrovia.

Making the disclosure of the donation to team at the team’s training ground CEO Edwin Sheriff that both donors care a lot about the team’s preparation for such pending competition.

“I am pleased to inform you all that CEO Prince Opoku Walker and Rufus Afro are thinking about you guys alot ” . CEO Walker had asked me to give you guys 10bags of 25kg and 10 footballs while Afro too on the other hand send me 11 pairs of booths to give you guys,” says the academy’s CEO, Edwin Sheriff.

In addition, CEO Walker and Afro have said to me they wish you all well in the upcoming U-15 and U-17 Competition.

In his acceptance speech, D. George Willie captain and the team’s spokesman thanked CEO Walker and Afro for such timely intervention.

” We are grateful for such meaningful contribution especially a time like this we are thinking of such items donated,” said Willie.

CEO Prince Opoku Walker is a humanitarian and a former football player who currently resides in the USA with frequent visits to Liberia.

CEO Walker is the CEO of Prince Walker Groups of Company with head office on Benson Street in Montserrado County.

For over the years, he has been reaching out to hundreds of citizens across the country and most especially his timely gesture to Christ United Football Academy (CUFA), which he has been doing for 3yrs now such as donating football jerseys, practicing bibs, organizing party and moreover helping to aid the parents with tuition to enable some of the players to go to school.

As for Rufus Afro, his donation on 4 July to Christ United Football Academy (CUFA) marks his second since he got connected to the Barnesville Estate-based academy, Christ United Football Academy (CUFA).

He donated 30 pcs of practicing bibs and six (6) footballs on 19 June marking his first major contribution to the academy.

Rufus currently resides in Colorado, USA where he plays for GAM United Football Club.

CUFA as affectionately called by supporters is based in Barnesville Estate since its establishment in 2019. The vision bearer and founder CEO Edwin Sheriff started such vision with study class and moreover visits to parents or sponsors of the kids.

Since the establishment of the academy in 2019, the academy has been one of fastest and well-known academies based in Barnesville Estate.

Some of the successes or achievements of the academy include One Christian Aid Charity Cup, One Richard T. Martor Cup (Anything Is Everything), LFA – Gardnerville Sub- Committee Grassroots Youth 12 Championship (2022-2023)

Edwin Sheriff serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Christ United Football Academy (CUFA) while CEO Prince Opoku Walker serves as academy’s president.
