As part of activities marking Liberia’s 179th Independence Anniversary, the Liberia Kickball Federation Regional will host a two-day kickball tournament in Kakata, Margibi County.

The tournament, which is being held under the theme, “Who Owns the Region,” is organized by the regional coordinators of the Liberia Kickball Federation.

Speaking about the event, Regional Coordinator Mr. Alipha Jalloh said the competition will feature teams from five counties: host Margibi, Grand Bassa, Bong, Nimba, and Lofa counties.

The matches will be played at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata using a round-robin format.

Mr. Jalloh explained that the primary objective of the tournament is to help participating counties prepare for the 2026 National County Sports Meet, which is scheduled for November.

According to the organizers, all participating teams are expected to arrive on July 23, with the tournament officially kicking off on July 24. The grand finale is scheduled for July 25.

Up to press time, organizers had not disclosed the cash prizes for the first, second, and third-place winners or the individual awards, citing the absence of a major sponsor.
