SPORTS: Liberian Local Striker, Emmanuel Bonkor Scores A Brace In His ‘s Win Over FC Quincy

KAKATA, Liberia- The zenith football house of Margibi County the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata was a scene of dramatic football displayed over the weekend.

The Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata staged the return of the 2023/2024 LFA- Margibi Sub-Association Third Division League after four days of resting.

In game one on Sunday, 28 January reigning champions Africa Sports Academy winless run continues as the boys from Kakata suffers another defeat to SUSA FC.

An early=minute goal from the visitor SUSA FC in the first 45′ minutes give their side a narrow 1-0 away win for SUSA FC.

The win marks the second at the opened-air Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata for the former back-to-back champions SUSA FC since the start of the new season.

SUSA FC first win came on 14 January in an away fixture to SLY FC where the team won a narrow 1-0 away victory over SLY FC.

In total SUSA FC has recorded six points in the three fixtures at the opened-air Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata.

One Goal Football Academy becomes the only team to have defeated SUSA FC at the stadium in Kakata and moreover in the league since the start of the new season.

The win for SUSA FC over Africa Sports Academy (ASA) on Sunday, 28 January moves the club to first place on the league table accumulated 10 points from 5 games played.

The former back-to-back champions SUSA FC has played 5 games winning 3, suffering a single defeat and a draw.

One Goal FC is the only team since the start of the new season to defeat SUSA FC.

As for the regining champions Africa Sports Academy the defeat from SUSA FC over the weekend marks the third defeat of the season with two in an away fixture and one at home with all been at the opened-air Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata.

SLY FC defeated Africa Sports Academy in the opening fixture on 6 January where the team tasted a 1-0 away defeat to debutant SLY FC.

So far Africa Sports Academy and JABU FC are the two teams in the league that is yet to get a win since the start of the new season.

The Margibi County Champions Africa Sports Academy sits at the bottom of the table with one point from 4 games played accumulated 1point from a draw and three defeats.

In the day final showpiece which saw two neighbors FC Quincy and SLY FC entertaining the respective fans or supporters but one the neighbor came victorious with a convincing 3-0 victory.

SLY FC inform striker Emmanuel Bonkor brace and Solomon Kromah goal sealed SLY FC a comfortably 3-0 win for his side over FC Quincy.

Bonkor registered his name twice on the score sheet in the first half to give his side a 2-0 halftime lead over SLY FC.

As the second half resumed, Solomon Kromah registered his name on the score sheet in the second half for the very first time in the match to give SLY FC a comfortably 3-0 win over FC Quincy.

The win marks the return of the winning spree by SLY FC while on the other hand the defeat marks the first defeat for FC Quincy since the start of the new.

SLY FC tasted three defeats in a row since the victory against Africa Sports Academy on 6 January at the opened-air Nancy B Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata.

SUSA FC and KA-CITY are the two clubs to defeat SLY FC since the start of the new season with all GameStop played at the Nancy B. Doe Sports.

As it stands SLY FC sits fifth place on the league table with 6 points from 5 games winning 2 and 3 defeats.

Emmanuel Bonkor is currently SLY FC highest goal scorer with three goals.
