Two Seriously Injured In Motor Accident In Buchanan City

BUCHANAN, Liberia – At least two persons have been seriously injured here in this port city, after a vehicle and a motorcycle they were riding collided in a motor accident.

The accident Tuesday evening at about 9:40 pm GMT in the Tarr Barr Community in Buchanan.

Eyewitnesses said the motorbike rider came from Monrovia Junction en route to Tubman Street, while the vehicle driver came from Tubman Street and was headed for Monrovia Junction when they collided.

The commercial vehicle driver was said to be on high speed when he reportedly lost his steering control and ran into the motorcyclists on the opposite lane.

The situation left the motorbike rider to sustain severe head injury, while the female passenger was seen bleeding from her mouth and lying unconscious in the middle of the main road.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene of the accident minutes after it happened.

The victims were immediately rushed to the Buchanan Government Hospital, where they are undergoing medical treatment.

Meanwhile, the Traffic Section of the Liberia National Police in Buchanan has launched a full scale investigation into the accident.

The Police say they are also working with family members to establish the true identities of the victims.
