Announce Indefinite Suspension Of All Academic And Other Activities At Liberia’s State-Owned University, But No Reaction Yet From UL Administration

The state-owned University of Liberia (UL) has been plunged into serious industrial action, with both faculty and staff declaring a “vote of no confidence” in the institution’s President, Dr. Layli Manparyan and two of her vice presidents, alleging a number of administrative malpractices.

“The members of ULFA and ULSA convened in their regular General Assembly on Friday, July 17, 2026 have unanimously a vote of no confidence in the President of the University of Liberia (UL), the acting Vice President for Fiscal Affairs as well as the Associate Vice President for Human Resources, an ULFA press statement signed by its Secretary General, Eric T.S. Patten over the weekend.

So far, there has been no reaction from the UL administration.
