Why Are Youths In Sinoe County Calling For Fair And Inclusive Scholarship Opportunities?

(Last Updated On: )

The Concerned Youth of District #2, Sinoe County is calling urgent attention to what it believes is an imbalance in the distribution of scholarship and educational support opportunities “within our constituency”.

BELOW IS A PRESS STATEMENT RELEASED BY THE CONCERNED YOUTH GROUP THIS WEEK:

We respectfully call on Representative Samson Quejue Wiah to ensure that all statutory districts in District #2 benefit equally from scholarship initiatives and other education-related programs.

At present, there is a growing perception among young people that these opportunities are being concentrated primarily within the Jedepo area, while several other communities remain underserved and overlooked.

As young citizens committed to the development of our district, we believe that education must be treated as a unifying priority not a selective privilege. Every young person, regardless of their community or background, deserves a fair chance to access educational advancement.

Speaking on behalf of the Concerned Youth, Chairman Sampson W. Weah stated:

“Our focus is not on handouts or temporary relief. Our priority is education.

We want to see every young person across District #2 given equal access to scholarship opportunities, regardless of where they come from. No district should be left behind.”

We emphasize that our concern is not rooted in division, but in fairness and accountability. While we acknowledge ongoing efforts, we strongly urge that these initiatives be expanded to reflect the needs of all communities within the district.

Furthermore, we call on Representative Wiah to prioritize long-term educational empowerment across his entire constituency. Investing in scholarships, vocational training, and academic support systems will create lasting impact and strengthen the future of District #2.

The youth of District #2 are not asking for favors we are demanding equal opportunity. We remain committed to advocating for fairness, inclusion, and sustainable development. The Concerned Youth of District #2, Sinoe County.
