A 36-year-old-man identified as Hassan Kanneh has been charged with manslaughter and forwarded to the court by the Liberia National Police for allegedly starving his girlfriend to death after she caught off his pennies.
According to the police charge sheet, the incident occurred on the Peace Island at the New Hope Community in the Monrovia suburb of Paynesville on April 6th, 2018.
It said a misunderstanding erupted between the defendant and the victim, Princess Dualo over an extra love affair.
The charge sheet narrated that Hassan Kanneh’s alleged love affair provoked Princess Dwalo , the victim to cut off the pennies of the defendant .
It was at this point that the defendant Kanneh retaliated by allegedly stabbing his lover in the middle of her chest, which resulted to her death in the room of the lover.
The confusion between the two lovers drew the attention of the house mate, who eventually forced the door opened. And the police later moved in and arrested the manslaughter suspect.
