GBARNGA, Liberia –The rift among politicians in Bong County appears to be deepening, as the 2020 Mid-term Senatorial elections draw nearer.
As the year 2019 goes into oblivion, the political rift may move to a bigger dimension and both Lawmakers are from opposition political parties.
Liberia’s Deputy House Speaker and Bong County Representative, Prince K. Moye has described as “witchcraft” the behavior of the County’s Senator Henry Willie Yallah towards him.
But Senator Yallah has rubbished Deputy Speaker Moye’s claim, saying he’s bent on causing confusion in the county and dividing the people of Bong.
Deputy Speaker Moye said prior to Yallah’s ascendency as Senator in the County, he worked in the offices of former Bong county District #1 Rep. Tokpah J. Mulbah bought him car and in return he (Yallah) sponsored one Emmanuel Kwanneh to contest against his former boss Tokpah, and James Kamara against former Rep. George S. Mulbah of District#3 on the People Unification Party and was defected in the 2017 election.
Speaking in Bong County on Monday, Sen. Yallah said Rep Moye considers incumbent Senator Tokpah as his father and he at the same time wants to be Senator, whereas he is yet to fulfill all the promises he made to the people as Representative of District #1.
Rep. Moye said the organic laws of the land provides that every individual elected to public office should perform his/her assigned constitutional duties, if not the citizens have the right to vote he or her out.
He added that over the years, Senator Yallah has underperformed in the County ‘this is why he is crying around with my name’.
The Bong County District#2 Lawmaker also claimed that since Yallah became Senator of the County, there is no single trace nor record of him making legislative report to the people of Bong County regarding his legislative performance at the Liberian Senate.
“While will you be calling me king Pharaoh, when you are the one that have brought confusion and divisions among citizens of the county. Look at the issue of the Bong Range county, you were elected since 2011 up to present what are your marks in the county in term of human resource and infrastructure developments, but you want to divide the county,” the Deputy Speaker further said.
“Senator Yallah stop crying let babies, you have stayed little over 8 years at the Liberia senator, if you think that you have worked to the expectation of your no need to cry like wolf,” Moye added.
Meanwhile, Representative Moye has boasted that he remains the single best choice for the Senate comes 2020.
Remember that there are two types of by-elections, necessary and unnecessary by-elections for example in 2018 Representative Cole have just entered the legislature not spending three months and want to run for the Senate in my mind I think that was not necessary.
Rep. Cole entered the house when he have not fulfilling one of his many campaign promises.
According to Representative Moye, 2020 is for the opposition Unity Party in the county, because the quest of his people to serve them is a call that he cannot deny.
