ANNOUNCEMENT: Registration And Profiling Of Communities, Under The Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP)

                        PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, in collaboration with Plan International Liberia and all implementing partners, announces the continuation of Stakeholders/Community engagement, orientation meetings, establishment of community Grievance Redress Committees (GRCs), registration and profiling of communities, under the Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP). These activities are taking place in Todee District, Careysburg District and St. River District in Rural Montserrado County May 22 – June 18, 2025.

These engagements aimed to:

  • Raise awareness about the Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP)
  • Raise awareness about women’s economic empowerment and gender equality;
  • Raise awareness about gender-based violence (GBV)
  • Introduce livelihood support opportunities for women
  • Establish Gender-Responsive Community Grievance Redress Committees (GRCs) to address project related grievances
  • Map community structures including schools and health facilities for possible assistance.

The orientation meetings will also ensure active participation from community leaders, traditional and religious leaders, women, men and young people.

The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection urges all community members, local leaders, women’s groups, and stakeholders from the participating communities to attend these meetings and contribute to the success of this life-changing initiative.
