Another Liberia Ex-Policeman arrested for allegedly raping child

(Last Updated On: )

Another former Liberian Police Officer Sipply Weah, age 50, has been remanded at the Monrovia Central Prison for allegedly abusing his four-year-old step daughter in the Monrovia suburb of Gaye Town in Sinkor.

He is alleged to have committed the act at their residence.

Rape in Liberia a nonbailable offense.

The former LNP Officer was charged with statutory rape and later forwarded at the Monrovia City Court to face criminal prosecution as provided by law.

He was arrested based on complaint from Madam Ruth Davis, who reportedly informed Police Investigators that former Officer Weah sexually abused his step-daughter in her absent wife.

Madam Davis’s evidence to Police Investigators was buttressed by the four-Year-Old Girl and his neighbor Fatu Doe who claimed that her Step Father Weah abused her.

His Neighbor revealed that her Step-Father has been threatening to kill the victim if she ever informed her mother, Tete Weah before she got ill as a result of his action.

This is the fourth time a former Liberia National Police Officer has been arrested and charged for sexual offense in recent times, after Officer Joseph Jallah and Nathaniel Seton were arrested for similar offenses. Report by Peter Toby
