ArcelorMittal Liberia Donates Medical Equipment To Bong Health Team

In an efforts to buttress national government fight against the Cronavirus, Mining Company ArcelorMittal Liberia has donated medical equipment worth little over $16,000 United States Dollars to the to the Bong County Health Team.

Materials donated include one ventilator, one oxygen concentrator, 240 bottles of hand sanitizers, 250 pieces of nose masks, 100 pieces of face shields, and 20 mattresses.

Making the presentation of the materials on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at the Bong County Health Team office in Suakoko on behalf of the company’s, a senior member of the team Mr. Varney Kiazulu said it was the company’s own way of helping central government in fighting the deadly virus.

Mr. Kiazulu noted that ArcelorMittal made the intervention through the efforts of Superintendent Esther Walker that there was a need that they direct some of their gestures to the health sector especially in the fight against COVID-19.

The ArcelorMittal staff narrated that they remain firm as a company in buttressing the government’s efforts as the number of cases of the virus continues to increase.

For her part, Superintendent Esther Walker thanked the company for the intervention.

Madam Walker said she remains a focus in seeking support from partners in the county to improve the health sector of the county speedily.

She called on the Bong County Health Team to remain robust in the fight against the virus with the proper use of the medical equipment provided them.

Receiving the materials, Bong County Health Officer Dr. Adolphus Yeah thanked ArcelorMittal for the intervention.

Dr. Yeah assured the company that the equipment will be used for the purpose intended for.

He then called on Superintendent Walker to remain helpful in soliciting support from partners in the county to assist the health institution to speed up the fight against the virus.
