CAMDL Take Part In Stakeholder Consultation On Nat’l Data Policy Formulation

(Last Updated On: )

The Campaigners Against Misinformation and Disinformation in Liberia (CAMDL) Executive Director Taweh Johnson has participated in the stakeholder consultation on the development of Liberia’s National Data Policy at a local hotel Monrovia.

The consultation was an important step in shaping a coherent national data governance framework that will support Liberia’s digital transformation and socio-economic development.

As part of a broader continental initiative to domesticate the African Union Data Policy Framework (AUDPF), CAMDL’s participation has contributed greatly to ensuring that the forthcoming National Data Policy reflects inclusive perspectives and aligns with regional standards.

Taweh Johnson emphasized data integrity and protection because manipulated data directly causes the spread of both misinformation and disinformation, adding that his institution was grateful for the invitation.

The Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications in Liberia organized the consultation in collaboration with the African Union Commission and GIZ, and the Collaboration on International ICT Policy in East and Southern Africa (CIPESA) facilitated the recent stakeholder consultation.
