TEMPLE OF JUSTICE, Monrovia- The Monrovia City Court has sent to jail a 24- year-old man identified as Junior Cole for allegedly Solomizing a boy, age 9 at the ruling CDC party headquarters Monrovia’s Congo Town suburb.
In the run up to the conclusion of investigations into the crime, Police Spokesman Moses Carter last week confirmed the incident to the private owned Joy FM radio 101.5 in Monrovia, but said a search was on for the culprit.
But now, the Liberia National Police has concluded the investigation and the suspect has been charged and sent to court.
According to police charge sheet, on May 25,2020, at about 1900hrs, the mother of the victim reported to the women and children protection section of the Police Zone three substation that on Sunday, May 24,2020, she was sitting in her room and her son went to her and told her that his anus for hurting.
The complainant said when she asked the little boy, he told her that the defendant, Junior Cole carried him in a zinc structure near the CDC party headquarters and sexually abused him three times. The zinc structure is one of several structures within the perimeter of the CDC HQ.
The mother of the 9-year-old boy stated that the first and second times, defendant Cole used his finger in his anus. And the third time, the defendant finally used his penis in his anus.
An interview conducted by the women and children protection section revealed that one day (the boy could not record the exact date), when he was going to his friend to play football, defendant Cole called him and he went to him.
Defendant Cole then took him to a zinc house, pull out a knife and later asked to take off his trousers, something he did and defendant “satisfied his sexual desire by abusing him.
The victim further narrated to police investigators that defendant Cole sexually abused him three different times in the zinc structure.
The Sodomy victim said Junior Cole threatened to kill him if he tells anyone about what he had done to him.
Defendant Junior Cole was arrested, investigated and acquainted with his constitutional rights by the Police before being forwarded to court on Monday, June 1, 2020.
Defendant Cole has however denied the allegation made against him by the 9-year-old boy, saying that doesn’t know the victim neither did he have any interaction with him.
The defendant did admit that he was standing at the CDC headquarters with others from a distance and a group came and arrested him.
Meanwhile, a medical report from the JDJ Memorial Hospital in the Paynesville suburb of Monrovia showed that the pilates anus seen with multiple healing laceration in its wall.
The victim’s allegation that he was sexually abused three different times in his anus was consistent with medical findings from the JDJ Memorial Hospital.
According to the Police charge sheet, Defendant Cole was in violation of section 14:70 a(I)(ii) and (b) respectively of the 2005 rape law.
He has now been reminded at the Monrovia Central prison awaiting court trial.
