Top human rights activist and former president of the Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA), Cllr. Tiawon S. Gongloe has joined calls in condemning distasteful description of First Lady Clar Weah and her husband, President George Weah’s private sexual life by a one-time CDC stalwart, Isaac Vah Tukpah who co-authored a book.

Cllr. Gongloe, who is now a president hopeful in Liberia’s 2023 elections, has joined women and other groups and individuals in condemning the book published by former Chief of Office Staff to ANCf Staff whose book gives a vivid description of the sexual life of the President’s wife.

At the same time, the former LNBA President has commanded the Liberian leader for his maturity in handling the matter without jailing Mr. Tukpah, who co-author a book titled: George Weah: The Dream, the legend and the Rise to Power now being sold on www.amazon.com.

According to Cllr. Gongloe, the behavior of Mr. Tukpah by demeaning a woman in his publication undermines their effort as elders in society to teach young people about good moral.

And the publication of Mr. Tukpah is not permissible, indefensible and went beyond the bank of free speech.

The 2023 presidential hope used the occasion to call on Mr. Tukpah and his colleague, Professor Emmanuel Clark and other Liberians not to engage  in such immorally behavior.

Cllr. Gongloe also lauded the ANC leader for his swift action toward his former chief of staff, Mr. Tukpah by asking him to resign his post which is a good example of a leader.

The former Bar President also lauded President Weah for upholding the Kamara Act Kamara, but he said his only disappointment was when this government jailed an opposition member Manipakei Dumoe and Mo Ali for writing on their various Facebook pages.

The veteran human rights Lawyer urged the Liberian President to bear in mind that the publication of the book by Mr. Tukpah has absolutely nothing to reduce the presidency, but he said that it has reduced his (Tukpah’s) prestige in the society.

Meanwhile, Cllr. Gongloe has criticized people engaging in speech of bad taste, which has negative impact on the society like in the case of Mr. Isaac Vah Tukpah’s book publication.
