The In Profile Mult–Purpose Media Entity has unveiled plan to establish an institution called In Profile Communication & Media Studies (IP-CMS) in Monrovia.
The IP-CMS offers a nine-month advanced diploma training in communication and media- related lessons to desirous, and talent-driven upcoming individuals wanting to pursue career in journalism.
Located at the Wells-Hairston Compound on Michelin Street in Monrovia, the IP-CMS will champion ‘Breeding Advanced Communicators’ as core value to make graduates asset to the media industry.
Twenty core courses focusing on all sectors of media industry will be offered in pursuit of the nine-month diploma training as pre-graduates will be recommended to media institutions for internship.
From practical newsroom knowledge, and tracked wealth of communication experience, the IP-CMS has mentors including instructors, and guest lecturers to mold the minds of students, who are expected to complete 57 credits before graduation.
The establishment of the IP-CMS is a dream come through. The plan is dated as far back as the date of the establishment of the In Profile Daily newspaper in 2008.
Meanwhile, the administration of IP-CMS promises to prepare passion-oriented brains in accelerating the growth, and development of the Liberian media landscape.
The administration is keen on setting the stage to undercut brain drain in the media industry as some media practitioners gravitate to other career opportunities while veteran journalists move beyond active media activities; the need for replacement cannot be overemphasized, said an In Profile Daily press release signed by its Publisher and CEO, Calton Boah.
