In Liberia’s southeastern Sinoe County, reports say an angry crowd has set ablaze a ten-tyre truck, after the vehicle knocked down and killed a 31-year-old man identified as Perko Gweh.

Eye witnesses said after the fatal accident, the driver of the truck marked Refferal Logistics Services, escaped the scene and abandoned the truck, because of the fear of the angry crowd.

The driver, who is identified Mark Kollie, is said to be still on the run.

According to the brother of the victim, Mr. Jonathan Vakun,  Perko Gweh  left his house in Teah Town, Dock Road at 6: 45 pm to buy food for his dog on the Sinoe street. But he said while going back after buying the food, saw his motor bike on the ground, and while lifting the motor bike, the speeding truck came from ahead killed him instantly.

Other eyewitnesses attributed the accident to another motor bike, which they said hit him from the back which cause him to fall in front of the truck.

The brother of the victim said Perko Gweh said the truck is owned by one Adolphus K. Karyah but bears a stamp of the “Refferal Logistics Services”, which has been contracted by GVL.

Meanwhile, the body of the late 31-year-old Perko Gweh is a Nimba citizen and his body is currently deposited at the St. Freeman funeral home in Morrasville Township in Sinoe County.
