Liberian Gov’t, Others Urged To Cater For The Poor & Less Fortunate

The President and Chief Executive Officer of a local charity, the Cassell Foundation, Dr. Daniel E. Cassell is urging humanitarian groups and the government to take care of basic and social human needs of the poor, less fortunate and other citizens in desperate need of help.

The Cassell Foundation was established to assist in meeting the basic human needs of the poor, less fortunate and the needy in the society, as well as to provide technical, medical services, supplies assistance, rehabilitation, education among others.

According to Dr. Cassell, catering to basic needs of people will help address some of the challenges faced by them.

Speaking recently when a group of retired soldiers of the disbanded AFL pledged their support to the Cassell Foundation in Monrovia, Dr. Cassell on behalf of the board welcomed the disbanded soldiers and promised to work with them and provide assistance to the needy in society.

‘’As a private citizens, I will do my best through my foundation to work alone with you through my organization in every way I can and as God continue to bless us we will continue to reach out to you,’’ he said.

On behalf of the foundation and its board members, I want to thank you for the support and the powerful words you delivered to me. I really appreciate you and will continue to work with you,’’ Dr. Cassell noted.

 

Some retired soldiers from disbanded AFL

In remarks, the Chairman of the disbanded Armed Forces of Liberia  Retired Captain Jerry Kollie said the deactivated solders joining the foundation is based on Dr. Cassell assistance to the group over the years.

He narrated that with in the short period of time, Dr. Cassell provided 5,000 USD to be used for its current office space as his gesture to the deactivated solders in the country.

‘’Dr. Cassell is the humanitarian of for the twenty first century a man who have passion for the down throwing massive. I am proud to be before you this morning to present to your foundation 2,780 members  from the disbanded Arm Forces of Liberia to help you implement your vision for the Liberian people especially the underprivileged,’’ Retired Captain Kollie said.

“What you did for us in the short time when we were in need of money to rent office place you came in and help us and today we are enjoying that facility. What you did for us, the president cannot do it for us to pay 5, 000 US dollars to pay for our office space therefore, we are calling you to join the  Chief of staff and you will forever be remember for your kind gesture to us,’’ he explained.

‘’Dr. Cassell, I am please and on behalf of the executive Committee of the Disbanded Solders and Deactivated solders to present to you 2, 780 members to your foundation, we could have make it to three thousand members but we have some of our members in rural counties but we will mobilized them based to join the foundation based on your mission statement to go through out Liberia in making sure that your dream come to pass,’ Retired Captain Kollie concluded.
