Despite Gov’t Not Paying Staff For 5 Months

The office for the Office for the Establishment of a War and Economic Crimes Court in Liberia (OWECC-L) over weekend launched a National Outreach Program for the Court and the National Anti – Corruption Court.

Ahead of the launch, the OWECC-L “developed clear roadmap” for the establishment of the War and Economic Crimes Court and the National Anti-Corruption Court, which is currently posted at the Office for the Establishment of War and Economic Crimes Court for Liberia (OWECC-L), located on Old CID Road, Mamba Point.

The OWECC-L says it plans to disseminate the roadmap across the country, provided it receives funding from the Liberian government.

Recently, the head of the war and economic crimes court office, Cllr. Dr. Jallah Barbu made a startling revelation to the media that the staff of the OWECC had not been paid for five months by the government, which set up this office.

The OWECC-L has posted on its official Facebook page that: “The institution remains fully committed to ensuring the establishment of these courts in line with its mandate. Watch the video to get a clear understanding of the roadmap.”
