The National Muslim Council of Liberia has strongly condemned the recent attack by Israel in Doha, State of Qatar, which claimed the lives of officials of the Palestinian delegation and a Qatari national.

Last Tuesday (September 9, 2025), Israelis bombers struck the residence believe to be hosting the negotiating team of Hamas in Doha, Qatar, resulting into the death of six persons including one Qataris

But addressing a major press conference shortly after a mass meeting of the national executive committee of the Muslim Council, the Secretary General, Kuku Reeves said that the Muslim community in Liberia   stands in full solidarity with the government and people of Qatar in their tireless efforts to promote peace in the Middle East region.

The United Nations Secretary General and other nations have also condemned the Israeli attack on Qatar.

According to Mr. Reeves, the council described the attack on Qatar by Israel as an ‘act of unprovoked aggression’ because Israel seeks to undermine noble intentions aimed at saving lives and advancing peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

The Liberian Muslim community extended deepest condolences to the bereaved families, the people of Qatar, and all those affected by this tragic incident.

This is the first comment from the National Muslim Council of Liberia since the crisis erupted in the Middle East between the Israelis and Hamas since October 7, 2023.

On October 7, 2023, Hamas killed 1,250 thousand Israelis and took scores of them hostage in Gaza.

Since the adoption of Israelis by Hamas fighters, Israel has reacted heavily killing over 65,000 people, starving the Palestinians and reducing Gaza and the West Bank to ruble

Several international attempts to arrange a seize fire between Israel and Hamas have proven futile and the war has drawn Iran, Lebanon, Houti controlled Yemen and Syria.

There are reports have that 20 Israelis hostages are still being held by Hamas and the Israelis government back by the United States seems not to be prepare to enter any negotiation.

Already, about 124 countries including France Britain, Canada, Spain and Italy have all announced that they will recognizing Palestine as an independent country in October later this year.

So far, there has been no comment from the Liberian government on the latest development in the Middle East but the state has always stood for the two state solution in resolving the Israelis –Palestinian conflict.
