GANTA, Liberia—The strength of Nimba County Detachment of the Liberia National Police (LNP) has been augmented, with the deployment of 31 trained Patrol Officers.
The officers are expected tol shortly be deployed across this northeastern County to enhance law enforcement activities.
Mendin Larmie, the Commander of the Nimba County Police Detachment, and Assistant Commissioner of Police said that the officers that have taken on this new assignment are twenty-five male and sixth of them are female.
The Nimba County LNP Official encouraged the newly deployed law enforcement officers to be professional, ethical and place Integrity in the discharge of their Statutory duties.
According to him, already Nimba County has two hundred and sixteen deployed Police Officers, with the additional thrity-one, which puts the strength of the detachment at Five hundred and twenty-six.
He believes that the current numbers of LNP presence Within the County is a significant boost to promote and restore law and order.
Speaking on a local radio station (Voice of Gompa) via telephone conservation on Wednesday July 15,2025 admitted that there has been no police presence in some districts in Nimba County, something he said the detachment is actively working on to address to ensure police presence.
ACP Mendin Larmie, indicated that manpower has been engaging with various community watch forum in combating crimes, and further commanded citizens and watch forum members that continue to buttress the efforts of the county police administration.
Speaking earlier, the County Police Chief announced plan under way to dedicate two newly constructed police stations in Boe -Quella and Kpair Blee districts of the County. He then added that when those two police stations are turnover it will further add value to the workings of the LNP.
In order to address the logistical gaps confronting the police detachment of Nimba County, officer Mendin Larmie, told newsman that his office remains engaged with the local stakeholders and national government in finding amicable solution to these situations hindering effective law enforcements, which according to him evidence of adequately addressing some of the challenges is the deployment of the thirty-one additional officers.
The Nimba County Police boss asserted that the detachment has been assured by the Central administration of police that additional motorbikes and vehicle will be send to the county to fill in the logistical gaps to reduce the burdens of constraints face by law enforcement officers in the coming days.
“We recognized all the challenges and we been into, what can we do, we just have to engage with relevant stakeholders to see the need, to empower the LNP with the needed logistical supports, he said.
Meanwhile, as part of efforts to ensure a heathy July 26 celebration, the Nimba County Police Detachment has disclosed plans underway to put into place a very stringent measures to take rid of criminals who intent to harass peaceful citizens, especially in Ganta City, being commercial hub Within the County.
The detachment through its Commander said their July 26 plans with positively affect several cities in Nimba County. He noted that said security protocols with shortly be release to the public.
