Police Arrest Liberian Father For Allegedly Burning 13-Year-Old Son’s For Stealing LD$50

Reports emerging from Old Boy Town Todee Statutory District near Monrovia says a 13-year-boy has fallen prey to domestic violence allegedly perpetrated against him by his own father. Ramsey Zulu, Sr, who has been arrested by the Liberia National Police.

Mr. Zulu is said to have burnt the boy’s buttocks and tied him to a coal base and beat him unmercifully for stealing fifty Liberian dollars.

The incident took place in the Ding Gola Chiefdom in Montserrado County.

The little boy narrated that he stole the fifty LD due to hunger, adding that on several occasions his father had failed to provide food for him regularly. The minor said he is surviving only on the goodwill of neighbors that normally cooked and give him food.

The victim informed Journalists that his father (Ramsey Zulu Sr) tied his hands and feet together in the bush where he was flogged unmercifully, inflicting serious wounds on his buttocks and other parts of his body, making it difficult for him to sit or sleep in peace.

He further explained that since the incident occurred on the 14th of March, his father has failed to carry him to the clinic for treatment until local authority within the Township got to know about his condition.

The father, Ramsey Zulu told Police that his 13-year-pld son has deliberately refused to go to school, but he has rather taken stealing as a pleasure.

Mr. Zulu accused the victim is in the constant hobby on going around stealing in the community something that which he said continue to create serious embarrassment for him.

He added that since he registered the little boy at the Killingworth Mission School in Todee, he has refused to attend regular classes but preferred going around stealing in the community.

He however, denied public speculations that he burnt rubber cups and put it on the butt of his son.

Mr. Ramsey Zulu, Sr. allegedly committed the act on March 14 of this year in Tubmanville Township. The boy is a 2nd grade student of the Killingworth Mission School in Todee District.

Meanwhile, suspect Ramsey age 41 is currently in Police custody at the Nyhen Police Depot in Todee Statutory District undergoing investigations.
