Liberia National Police Official Press Statement
Date: August 13. appreciation to members of the media present here today, and to the Introductory Remarks Good morning and welcome. We extend our general public watching us live across Liberia and beyond.
This press briefing is being held to address a serious incident involving an assault on a police officer while on duty. The Liberia National Police remains committed to transparency, clear message: we will not tolerate any act that undermines the authority accountability, and the rule of law. What we share today should send a and safety of our officers.
Narrative Statement On the morning of Tuesday, August 12, 2025. at approximately 7:15 A.M., a troubling incident occurred at the intersection of 12th Street. Sinkor, involving à 67-year-old classroom teacher identified as Klady A. Paul. While Parolman Koilous N. Larmin Paul approached him in a visibly hostile and disruptive manner. was actively regulating and diverting traffic in service to the nation.
Mrs. Paul, espite the officer’s efforts to maintain order, Mrs. Paul verbally attacked him, using profanities and inflammatory language directed not only at Patrolman Larmin but also at other officers assigned to the post. Her behavior quickly escalated into physical aggression.

As captured on video footage that will be presented during this briefing, Mrs. Paul is seen assaulting Patrolman Larmin while he was on duty, causing visible injury to his face and creating a scene of public disorder. In the course of her actions, she also damaged a government-issued police communication radio, further compounding the offense. Her conduct was reckless, disrespectful, and in direct violation of the laws of the Republic of Liberia.
Charges and Legal Action Following a thorough investigation, the Liberia National Police has formally charged Mrs. Klady A. Paul, age 67 Simple Assault in violation of Chapter 14, Criminal Mischief in Section 14.21(A) Section 15.5 of Chapter 17, Section 17.3 Disorderly Conduct in violation violation of Chapter 15, disruption caused to public order and police operations. Immediately following this press These charges reflect the gravity of her actions and the briefing, Mrs. Paul will be forwarded to court to face prosecution under the laws of the Republic.
National Police has always upheld the principle of accountability, taking Institutional Commitment & Officer Commendation The Liberia swift action when officers fall short of their duties or violate public trust. But just as we hold our officers accountable, we are equally bound to protect them when they are unjustly attacked while serving the nation.
In this regard, we commend Patrolman Koilous N. Larmin for his fale resilience, professionalism, and restraint during the assault. His ability to maintain composure under pressure reflects the values and discipline expected of every officer in uniform, and a clear indication of improvement in Law-enforcement Service delivery.

Let this incident serve as a clear and uncompromising warning: the Liberia National Police maintains zero tolerance for any form of assault, disrespect, or obstruction directed at officers in the line of duty.
The uniform represents service, sacrifice, and authority. Any attempt to undermine it will be met with the full force of the law.
