Later in the evening, the Executive Mansion issued a press release saying that President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has ordered the immediate dismissal of the Deputy Director of the National Security Agency (NSA) and Roberts International Airport (RIA) and a number of others allegedly linked to the biggest cocaine seizure in this West African country,
The President has further directed all relevant security and law enforcement institutions to intensify their investigations and ensure that every individual connected to these cases is brought before the courts in accordance with due process of law.

President Boakai Orders Dismissals, Suspensions, and Further Investigations
in Ongoing Narcotics Cases

Executive Mansion, Monrovia –: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has ordered the immediate dismissal, suspension, and investigation of several officials of government and law enforcement personnel following his review of the latest status report on ongoing investigations into major narcotics trafficking cases.
The actions form part of the Government’s continued efforts to uphold accountability,
strengthen the rule of law, and ensure that public officials entrusted with serving the Liberian people conduct themselves with integrity and in full compliance with the law.
Following a review of the findings submitted by the relevant authorities, President Boakai has, with immediate effect, dismissed Mr. Mark Egon Kuiah, Deputy Director for
Operations at the Roberts International Airport (RIA), Mr. Johnny Bolar Dean,
Commissioner of Police for Criminal Investigation, Intelligence and INTERPOL, and Mr. Patrick Doe, Deputy Director for Administration at the National Security Agency (NSA), from their respective positions.
The President has further recalled Mr. Patrick Komasu (702), who had been seconded to the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), from that assignment, suspended without pay, and directed that he be placed under investigation.
Additionally, President Boakai has ordered the immediate dismissal of all government employees and law enforcement officers indicted in connection with the seizure of 198 plates of processed cocaine at the Roberts International Airport and the confiscation of 3,971 plates of cocaine from the premises of two foreign nationals.
Those dismissed are:
- Mohammed O. Gbowrah, Director of Security, Roberts International Airport;
- Moses Jallah, Deputy Commander, Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency, Roberts
International Airport.
The President has also ordered the dismissal of two officers of the Liberia National Police
who are said to have used official government vehicles to facilitate the transportation of
a narcotics consignment from Vincent Town along the Bomi Highway to the vicinity of
Mega Mart in Thinker Village, Paynesville.
They are:
- Anthony T. Blaye;
- Wadell W. Kwarbo
President Boakai has also directed the immediate dismissal of the following individuals and ordered that they be forwarded to the Ministry of Justice for prosecution in accordance with the law:
- Jammel V. Jallah, Agent, National Security Agency;
- Christian L. Nyantee, Agent, National Security Agency;
- Caycee Nelson, Procurement Director, Ministry of Gender, Children and Social
Protection; and
- Albenigo Janior, Agent, National Security Agency.
President Boakai said these actions demonstrate his Administration’s resolve to ensure that no public official or government employee who engages in criminal conduct remains in public service.
He stressed that the Government will continue to enforce the law without fear or favor and will hold accountable anyone found to have participated in narcotics trafficking or related criminal activities.
The President has further directed all relevant security and law enforcement institutions to intensify their investigations and ensure that every individual connected to these cases is brought before the courts in accordance with due process of law.
The Executive Mansion assures the Liberian people that the Government will continue to take all lawful and necessary measures to combat narcotics trafficking, dismantle criminal networks, strengthen national security, and safeguard the integrity and international reputation of the Republic of Liberia.
