Press Corps @ Executive Mansion Unsuccessfully Probes Answers On Weah’s “Mistresses”

The office of the Liberian Presidency is still reluctant to directly comment on outburst trending on social media of recent based on two women who have been at each other’s throats for having an affairs President George Manneh Weah.

Although, President George M. Weah has been a legally married man for many years now, Ms. Tangie Banto is said to be claiming original girlfriend to the President and has gotten the backing of some friends.

Both have claimed to be concubines to the President through live social media video recordings which have gone viral for about a week now.

Deputy head of the National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL), Attorney Safuao Gray has been in the mix of the controversies and the in the videos, one video says oh that  when she sees her “mate”  she will pursue.

When Deputy Presidential Spokesperson, Smith Toby was quizzed at the regular Executive Mansion Press briefing on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 as to how embarrassing the videos was to the office of the President, he simply replied:

“Well, again, I sit here as the official spokesman to the office of the President and you are aware we work here with a mandate, there is a TOR attached to the office.”

Mr. Toby indicated that they are not the social media or family spokesperson to the president.

He said if the President is on a national duty, and there are issues relating to his function as a president, he (Toby) has the responsibility to respond to such but maintained his words that “it is not our responsibility to delve into social discussion of the President.”
