SPORT: Who Joins Champions Heaven Eleven & BYC In Liberia’s Top-tier League?

The second leg of the Promotional Playoff climaxed on Friday 18 June with MUSCAT FC welcoming SANDI FC in a return leg at the Samuel Kayon Doe Practice Pitch in Paynesville at 4:00PM.

The Paynesville based club, MUSCAT FC needs a 3-0 win to joins champions Heaven-Eleven and runner-up BYC to the Orange National League -1st Division.

MUSCAT FC suffers a 2-0 defeat to SANDI FC on 15 June at the famous opened-air Nancy B.Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata,Margibi County with hundreds of spectators including MUSCAT FC CEO Manja Boakai Sr., Mr..Aldophus Dolo president 1st divison outfit club Nimba United,Tony Margibi Deinuka president of 2nd divison outfit club Tony FC,championship  club president Paynesville FC Suah and another others.

Henry Korfeh, alais ” Messi” puts the Lower Margibi Club SANDI FC in the lead in the early minutes of the first 45th minutes in the 3th minute to take an early 1-0 lead over MUSCAT FC.

With just minutes left to end the first half, captin Korvah Kollie who returned to club after his suspension due to three yellow cards, registered his name on the score sheet in the 43th minute with a beautiful free kick to give SANDI FC a first half win  and a comfortable 2-0 win over MUSCAT FC.

With the introduction of the second half after both teams has received talks from their respective coaches MUSCAT FC was reduced to 10-men after center referee shows a yellow card yellow card to Emmanuel Reyah in the 59th minute.

And with no goals from either side in the 2nd half with the match ending 2-0 in favor of SANDI FC.

A win or draw for SANDI FC qualifies the Dolo Town club to the top-tier league of Liberia while a 3-0 win for MUSCAT FC will kills SANDI FC qualification hopes after a 2-0 first leg, but if MUSCAT FC wins 2-0 both teams will played for extra time.

The meeting between both clubs will be the fourth this season.

SANDI FC has won two games over MUSCAT FC this season.

SANDI FC won MUSCAT FC 3-0 in the first leg and drew at home in the 2020/2021 Orange National League-2nd Division.

SANDI FC and MUSCAT FC ended the season with 41points each with SANDI FC securing third place while MUSCAT FC secured fourth place.

This is not the first meeting between the Paynesville outfit club, MUSCAT FC will be playing a promotional playoff with a Margibi County outfit club.

It can be recalled that years back, MUSCAT FC suffered a 1-0 defeat  to NEW HOPE CLUB at the Nancy B.Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata,Margibi County after pinning Barcelona FC of Bomi County 1-0.

The Paynesville FC outfit club MUSCAT FC was again paired against FEEL UNITED of Kakata,Margibi County, where she won both legs to gain qualification to the second top-tier league of Liberia.

In another development, Keitrace FC entertains Ganta Almighty in a return leg on 18 June at the ATS in Central Monrovia at 4:00PM in the relegation playoff.

A draw for the Nimba County outfit club Ganta Almighty will keep her hopes alive in the Orange National League-2nd Division and will see Keitrace FC joining Stages FC and FC Fassell in the championship while a 2-0 win for Keitrace FC will see her seeking relegation.
