For Margibi County Football Team, Ahead Of The National County Sports Meet

Amidst the delay from local county officials in Margibi County and ahead of preparation from other counties as regard to the Nation’s most talk about sporting festival the National County Sports Meet Coach Matthew Julutweh, if Margibi County eyes a return to the touchline of Margibi County football team.

The former Grand Gedeh County head coach Coach Julutweh alias’ Coach Jacque” made such assertion during a telephone interview during the weekend.

In an exclusive telephone interview during one of the sister’s morning program on Radio Margibi 103.9 in Kakata Weekend Super Sports on Saturday, 16 August, Coach Julutweh mentioned when quizzed about if he is call to serve Margibi County football team for the upcoming 16 December 2025 National County Sports Meet will he accept such job.

” Jerome yes of course why not I will like that continue on such note because I far as I am concerned, I haven’t achieved anything yet for Margibi County, because what the people wants is the championship, despite we want third place in such competition” says the Margibi County football coach Julutweh.

At the same time, the experience CAF license coach Matthew Julutweh lauded praises on the people of Margibi County for such an opportunity given him to head the technical staffs of the football team.

“Though I came few days to the tournament, but I am thankful to my predecessor Coach Wattala Hne Moore for the recruitment of most of the players because you know and I know that 98% of the players were already signed Jerome” says Coach Julutweh.

He added by thanking the Margibi Sports Association (MSA) Chairman Tonny Walker, the than Chief Patron of Sports of Margibi County Atty Victoria Ducan former Superintendent of Margibi County, CEO Cassell Kuoh the steering committee chairman, technical staffs and players, CEO Chris Weah, the Business People of Margibi County, the sports administrators, coaches, sports journalist within Margibi County and across and especially you Jerome C Willie, Jr among others.

 

On the question of challenge and experience with Margibi County football team.

“Indeed, it was wonderful from the day of my appointment until then, we clinched third place I enjoyed every moment the twist and turn and moreover Jerome there will always be challenged but what I love the people of Margibi County stood by team from the very beginning to the end “. Says Coach Julutweh.

Coach Matthew Julutweh alias” Coach Jacque” got appointed on 17 December 2024 after the sporting arm of Margibi County the Margibi Sports Association (MSA) parted away with Coach Wattala Moore who was appointed early.

His stay with Margibi County has been a successful coaching spell despite making him just a year with the Margibi County football team.

In his debut season for Margibi County he recorded 5pts from 3 games during the group stage in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County where his first win came against Grand Kru County during the group stage.

He marked his debut with a one -all -draw against Montserrrado County in his team’s opening fixture during the group stage.

Lofa County recorded the first win against Coach Julutweh at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville in the semifinals of the competition where Lofa County got a granfinal ticket through a win in the post-match penalty shoot outs.

Matthew Julutweh is a Liberian football (soccer) coach with experience at both club and county levels. He has coached FC Fassell, Watanga FC, and Mighty Barrolle, and has also led Margibi County and Grand Gedeh County in the National County Sports Meet. He is known for his focus on player development, particularly with young talents, and for his ability to turn around struggling teams.
