SPORTS: Grand Cape Mt. County Appoints Varney Passawe To Head Upcoming National County Meet

As Liberia gears up for its most celebrated sporting tradition—the National County Sports Meet (NCSM)—Grand Cape Mount County has made a strategic appointment to boost its preparations.

The Key Appointments include Varney Paasawe, II, Chair, Mobilization Committee – Grand Cape Mount County Sports Steering Committee  .

Mr. Emmanuel Tamba,  Chair of the Sports Steering Committee of Grand Cape Mount County made such  appointment on Thursday, 14 August 2025  through a written communication at which time the appointee Paasawe confirms such via his official facebook page  .

At the same time Mr. Paasawe will work alongside Varney Gray Co-chair, Amara Soko Secretary-General, Siaka Kwaah  member,  with additional support that includes other member as such All District Youth Coordinators, Sports Coordinators, Paramount Chiefs, and Commissioners

🎯 Mandate
Mr. Paasawe is tasked with mobilizing citizens of Grand Cape Mount County—both locally and in the diaspora  and Generating funding for full participation in the 2025–2026 NCSM  .

Grand Cape Mount County is placed in Group C, alongside:
– Grand Bassa (co-host)
– Lofa
– Grand Gedeh
Tournament Details

Maryland County is the official host for this year’s edition of the competition with the opening ceremony schedule for 14, December 2025 in Harper

Co-hosts counties include Grand Bassa, Nimba, Gbarpolu

Liberia’s Youth & Sports Minister Minister Bagalu made such pronouncement during a draw  on 25 April  2025 at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville.
