As Saturday Kollie And Morris Tokpah’s Goals Seal KA- CITY First Win

It was just a matter of time for KA- CITY FC making their debut to get on a winning start since their promotion to the Liberia Football Association (LFA) Third Division League of Margibi County.

In addition, it was another fresh start for players, fans and officials of KA-CITY, as the upper Margibi County outfit club grabs first win since the start of the 2023/2024 League Season of the LFA- Margibi Sub-Association Third Division League.

Saturday Kollie and Morris Tokpah’s second half goals secured a comfortable 2-0 home win for KA- CITY over SLY FC after both teams played to a scoreless first half.

The game was in continuation of the championship of the LFA- Margibi Sub-Association Third Division 2023/2024 League Season which took place at the football theater house of Margibi County, the famous Nancy B Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata on Wednesday, 24 January.

Kollie early-minute goal and Tokpah’s late-minute second half goal secured KA-CITY FC’s first ever win after tasting two defeats in the previous fixture of the competition.

In the team’s debut match FC Quincy defeated KA-CITY 4-2 on 14 January at the opened-air Nancy B Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata in a home fixture marking the first defeat in the competition.

KA- CITY FC tasted their second defeat on 16 January in a home fixture against Wein Town United FC as Weintown United FC defeated SLY FC 3-1.

The Upper Margibi County outfit club KA- CITY win on Wednesday, 24 January against SLY FC moves the team to sixth place on the league table. The club has now played three matches conceding two defeats and a single win.

The win over the nearest neighbor SLY FC on Wednesday, 24 January at the opened-air Nancy B Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata marks the first win of the new season.

The Upper-Margibi County toptier club KA-CITY next fixture is at home to JABU FC on 31 January at the opened-air Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata Margibi County.

In separate interview after the match team head coach Alexander Freeman lauded his player for such results.

“Glory be to God for such a day and moreover thanks to the Officials and fans for been there for us but there is much more need to be done to achieve our objective which is to claim the championship or to mantian ourselves in the league,” said Coach Freeman.

As for the club’s President Amadu Bility, he lauded the club’s CEO Rev. Williams A. Blatey and technicians for such victory.

It can be recalled that month ago before the start of the new season KA- CITY was on the verge of been sold but since the inclusion of Pastor Williams Blatey as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), it is understood that the club started it rebranding process.

It not yet clearly understood as to whether the former Margibi Sports Association (MSA) chairperson and Liberia Football inter- Rev. Williams has purchase any share of the club as per a source both parties are still negotiating.

In the day final showpiece, FC Quincy came from two goals to settle to a two-all draw after Blamo Weah scores a brace in the first half with one from the penalty spot to give Weintown United FC a 2-0 halftime win over FC Quincy

Back from recess with no much time to waste Uriah Rogers got on the score sheet in the early minutes of the second half to reduce the score to 2-1 but with more pressure from the home team Eric Yancy late minute corner kick got the equalizer which saw both teams playing to a two-all draw.

And elsewhere, at the Unification Sports Pitch in Harbel, DORIS FC defeated JABU FC 1-0 at the Unification Sports Pitch in Smell No Taste, Harbel.

The win for Doris FC over JABU FC on Wednesday, 24 January moves the club to first place on the league table with 9 points from 4 matches played since the new season.

As it stands, FC Quincy tailsman Daniel Harlee is the league highest goalscorer with 5 goals.

Danie Harlie alias ” Neymar became the first player to score a hattrick and moreover the only player thus far to register a hattrick since the start of the new season of the LFA-Margibi Sub-Association Third Division 2023/2024 League Season

The former League MVP Daniel Harlie scores hattrick for FC Quincy in the opening fixture on 14 January at the opened-air Nancy B Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata where his team FC Quincy administer entrance to KA-CITY with a comfortable 4-2 victory.

In other development, the competition takes a break and resume over the weekend with more thrilling fixtures at the two venues of the competition.

On Sunday, 28 January at the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata in game one ASA and SUSA FC knock horn at 2PM while in game two FC Quincy and SLY FC climax the day showpiece at 4PM.

The Margibi County Champions Africa Sports Academy (ASA) has gotten a win since the start of the new season in the defense of the title.

The Upper-Margibi County top tier club Africa Sports Academy is the only team from Upper end yet to get a win and moreover one of the club in the league yet to taste a win along with JABU FC.
