SPORTS: Liberian Sports Writers Hold One-Day Workshop In Kakata

The Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL) Margibi County Chapter in Collaboration with SWAL HQ has undertake a one-day Workshop for Sports Journalists or those wanting to be Sports journalist in Kakata, Margibi County.

The Coordinators of the lower and upper Margibi County Jerome C. Willie, Jr and William Decent-Toe in a conversation with this news outlet stated that the workshop is intended to improve the writing skills of its member and those desiring to be a Sports journalist within Margibi County and the country at large.

Willie and Decent-Toe lamented that this is another way of reaching out to the younger one and also a way of sensitizing the public the essence of the SWAL.

The workshop was held on Saturday, 4th of March at the Agape High School in Kakata, Margibi County which is expected to kick off during the afternoon hour.

At the same time three topics will be lectures as such workshop which include Sports Writing, Sports Commentary and Sports PhotoJournalism.

Facilitators of the workshop included Kolubah Zayay of state radio, ELBC, the Deputy Communication officer at the LFA Benjamin Garkpah and Sam Jadoe of Truth FM and Chrismiltv.

According to a survey, Margibi County has the highest membership apart from Montserrado County within the Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL).

The workshop is expected to host over 20 participants from Margibi, Bong and Montserrado Counties. Report by Jerome C. Willie, Jr.
