SPORTS: Margibi Teachers Association Kicks Off 3rd Soccer Tournament

Defending Champion Is BWI

The Margibi Teachers Sports Association (MATSA) proudly announces the kickoff of its 3rd Edition Soccer Tournament, set for Tuesday, April 22, 2026, in Kakata, Margibi County.

All matches will take place at the well-known Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium, bringing together educators in a spirited display of football and unity.

This exciting tournament is organized by MATSA in collaboration with New Creation Entertainment Center, with support from sponsors including Jetty Rubber Inc. and the Thompson Nana Foundation, among others.

This year’s edition is under the Theme: “Teach, Play and Inspire.”

Participating Schools for this year’s edition include:

Booker Washington Institute (BWI) (Defending Champions)

Shelia Love Foundation

St. Paul Lutheran High School

St. Augustine Episcopal Mission High School

Agape High School

SRC

Plus additional schools, bringing the total to over eight teams.

Teams will be grouped in pairs

Knockout-style competition

The grand finale will be play at the same venue of the opening game of the tournament and moreover at a later date to be announce before the end of this month.

🥇 Winner: LD$20,000

🥈 Runner-up: LD$10,000

This annual event continues to promote unity, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among teachers while encouraging healthy competition across schools in Margibi County.

The Booker Washington Institute (BWI) enters as defending champions—can they retain their title, or will a new winner emerge?
