SPORTS: Mawalo Kpadeh Named Chair Of Margibi Sports Association

With months to go to the 2020/2021 edition of the National County Sports Meet, which is organized by the Ministry of Youth & Sports in collaborationn with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Jerry O. Varnie, Superintendent of Margibi County has make several appointments to steer the county’s to this year national county sports meet.

The 2020/2021 national county sports meet which will officially kicks off December 12, 2020 with the opening matches be play in Montserrado County with Bong,Sinoe and Gbarpolu Counties are venues to play.

Margibi County Information Joe Josiah Benson made the pronouncement on social media at his office in Kakata,Margibi County

“In an effort to grapes trophies in the upcoming December 2020 National County Sports Meet,Margibi County CEO,Hon.Jerry O. Varnie has made several appointments affecting the MSA” wrote Benson.

Those appointed on September 14,2020 includes:

1.Mawolo Kpadeh – Chairman ( MSA)

2.Sara Dahn-         Gen.Secretary

3.Sekou Kalasco Damoro- Chairman Steering Committee

4.Wormhen Giiyanvator- Head Coach( Male team)

With more appointments made on September 15,2020.

1.Benedict Chie – Vice Chair/Administration (MSA)

2.Tony Walker – Vice Chair/Operation

3.E.Melvin Jallah- Financial Secretary

4.Aloysius Flomo- Team Manager

5.Sekou Tourey- Assistant Team Manger

6.Jerry Kennedy -Head Coach( Female)

7.John Tamba- Assistant Coach( Male)

8.Coach  Daei Arab Fofana- Technical Director

9.JL Quincy Smith- Co-Chair Steering Committee – MSA

10.Jefferson H. Daryoue – Co- Chair for Operation -MSA.

With the appointment made so far, there were some missfeelings from some of the citizens who spoke to www.newspublictrust.com.

” I must first congratulate all those appointed to served the MSA.”

“Hon. Varnie told us that he was bringing new wine in old bottles but I think it is just a recycling of the same people,” said Martha.

As for Albert Sonnie CEO of Gibi FC in Kakata,Margibi County.

“I must thanked Hon. Varnie for the opportunity given me to served my county with in the MSA and I wished all of the appointees well” wrote Albert Sonnie former vice chairperson for operation MSA.

The Margibi Sports Association is to runs the affairs of the County in consultation with the Superintendent for the upcoming national county sports meet with Margibi County last trophy was won in 2012 under Daei  Arab Fofana.

The Gibi boys and girls of Margibi  County is paired in  group D of three with defending champions Grand Kru County and host Gbapolu with matches  to be play in Bopolu City.

Grand Kru County is the defending champions of the male’ edition and Margibi County is the defending champions in the kickball edition of the 2019/2020 national county sports meet.

The national county meets was first played in 1956 with Maryland County becoming the first champions in the male’ edition.

About the newly appointed chairperson Mawolo Kpadeh is single and have two children( a boy and a girl).

He is former Mobilization chairman of Margibi Sports Association,

PARTNERSHIP  WITH RIGHT TO PLAY ON SPORTS  FOR DEVELOPMENT  ACTIVITIES  IN LIBERIA.

They are also noted for being the first person to bring football club after the world in Margibi County.
