The main opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) of former Liberian President George Manneh Weah has chosen the leader of the opposition Alternative National Congress (ANC) to be its keynote speaker at the CDC’s 22nd anniversary celebrations in the southeastern Grand Gedeh County this Saturday, June 27, 2026.
“You are invited to serve as Keynote Speaker on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in a national forum aimed at confronting these challenges head-on. Your participation will strengthen the credibility and national significance of this gathering while advancing true opposition solidarity, democratic responsibility, and a clear vision for Liberia’s path forward,” says a letter of invitation to Cummings dated June 15, 2026 and signed by CDC Chairman, Attorney Janga Kowo.
This news outlet has not seen a reply from the ANC leader so far.
But the CDC letter of invitation notes:
“Unlike previous anniversary celebrations, this year’s gathering has been intentionally redesigned as a National Political Renewal And Policy Dialogue Aimed At Promoting Reflection, Accountability, Democratic Engagement, Policy Discussion, And Constructive Dialogue Regarding Liberia’s Future.”
