The ongoing visit of Dr. Emmanuel Johnson, President of AME Zion University (AMEZU), to the United States continues to bear fruit, as he wins the support of both individual and institutional partners.
The latest development comes from Minnesota State University (MSU), where a promising partnership is taking shape between the U.S.-based MSU and Liberia’s AMEZU, as George Stewart Reports.
During a meeting on 27August at MSU’s Saint Paul office, Dr. Johnson engaged in discussions with Chancellor Dr. Scott Olson. The conversation focused on educational collaborations between the two universities, with Dr. Johnson presenting AMEZU’s vision for the future. Key highlights included the development of a Graduate School, Vocational Training Programs, IT and Agriculture initiatives, and a range of professional certificate offerings.
In response, Dr. Olson expressed his pleasure at the opportunity to collaborate with a distinguished educator and cleric from Africa. He praised AMEZU’s leadership for its forward-thinking vision and emphasized the value of international partnerships in higher education.
Both leaders agreed to pursue collaborations in areas such as faculty and student exchange programs, joint research grants, and infrastructure expansion—specifically, the construction of new dormitories at AMEZU.
“This is a win-win engagement for both institutions,” Dr. Olson stated, as the meeting concluded on a positive note, with both leaders expressing optimism about the future partnership. The realization of this collaboration is seen as a significant milestone for both universities.
