The Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC) is expected to begin a Public Hearing on the Liberia Electricity Corporation’s (LEC) application for the renewal of its Import License next week.

In a communication to the LEC, the LERC administration said that the Public Hearing is being convened pursuant to Section 13.7 of the 2015 Electricity Law of Liberia and LERC’s Administrative Procedure Regulations of September 2020.
The objective of the application is to enable the Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC) to continue carrying out the following electricity activity and operation: the importation of electricity and its supply into the Liberia Interconnected Transmission System (LITS), according to theLERC communication.
The Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, 24th February 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at the Corina Hotel in Sinkor, Monrovia.
