The Liberian Senate has confirmed the Chairman-Designate of the Governance Commission, Hon. Atty. Garrison Doldeh Yealue, Jr., a Senate press release said in Monrovia today, February 23, 2023.
The Confirmation of Atty. Yealue, followed a report from the Senate Committee on Internal Affairs, Governance & Reconciliation, emphasizing that the nominee has demonstrated suitability, qualification and competence, therefore he should be confirmed by the Senate’s Plenary.
It can be recalled that early last week, the Committee on Internal Affairs, Governance & Reconciliation conducted a confirmation hearing with the Chairman-Designate of the Governance Commission, Hon. Atty. Garrison Doldeh Yealue, Jr.
At the same time, the Liberian Senate has also confirmed, 33 Military Officials, ranging for the ranks of Major, Captain and Second Lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL).
The Confirmation hearing of Majors, Captains and Lieutenant-Designate of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) followed a report from the Committee on Defense, Intelligence, Security & Veteran Affairs, recommending that the designated military officials be confirmed.
The nominees include Tarnue W. Woheel (Major), Reuben Benedict (Captain), as well as Krubo K. Kaakazu (Second Lieutenant) amongst others. On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, the Committee on Defense, Intelligence, and Security & Veteran Affairs held confirmation hearing with the aforementioned military officials.
