As Govego Jallah And Nathaniel Tokpah’s Goals Seal Another Win For The Club

The Third Division title race of the Liberia Football Association Third Division continues in the quest for championship in Margibi County.

The reigning champions, Africa Sports Academy continues their winning spree in the chase to retain the championship for the second time in a row.

It was an entertaining match on Sunday,10 March at the open air Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata which saw Govego Jallah and Nathaniel Tokpah second half goal seal a narrow 2-1 home win for Africa Sports Academy over JABU FC.

The match witness both teams playing to a scoreless first half.

Jallah and Tokpah’s goals have earned a win for the Upper Margibi top tier club, Africa Sports Academy, marking the club’s fifth win in the ongoing competition and moreover first win of the second phase.

Since the club tasted defeat to SUSA FC at home on 27 January, the club is yet to taste a single defeat.

Africa Sports Academy played six games since the defeat to SUSA FC at the opened-air Nancy B Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata.

So far, the Margibi County Champions Africa Sports Academy has collected 16 points in the last six games with the team winning 5 and a single draw.

The win against JABU FC on Sunday, 10 March the opened-air Nancy B Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata moves Africa Sports Academy to second place with 17 points with FC Quincy sitting at first place with 17 points but topping dued to goal difference.

In another resuls on Sunday, 10 March at the same venue,  it was a miserable day for League leader FC Quincy as they suffer defeat to KA- CITY who is hoping to escape relegation.

Morris Tokpah lone goal in the second half sealed a narrow 1-0 win for KA-CITY against FC Quincy in an away fixture which saw FC Quincy ending the match with 10-men dued to Daniel Harlie been showing a straight red card in the second half of the match after Tokpah registered his name on the score sheet for KA-CITY.

Tokpah lone goal for KA-CITY against FC Quincy marks his fifth goal for club since the start of the competition as he on record for been the club highest goal scorer in the competition.

The win moves KA-CITY to eighth place on the league table with 10 points, while the defeat to FC Quincy denied the club from having a 3points lead ahead of second place Africa Sports Academy.

In other results from the other venue of the competition, on Saturday, 9 March Weintown United FC defeated Doris FC 2-1 while on Sunday, 10 March SLY FC recorded the highest win since the start of the competition with a 4-0 away defeat to SUSA FC at the Unification Sports Pitch in Lower Margibi.

Blamo Weah of Weintown United FC scores a brace for club in the win over Doris FC on Saturday 9 March to increase his goal tally to 10 in the competition.

The Weintown United FC striker Weah is the competition highest goal scorer.

In another development, the league continues this weekend with interesting fixtures at the two venues of the competition.

At the opened-air Nancy B.  Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata on Friday,15 March in game one SLY FC and DORIS FC wrestle at 2:00 PM while in game two Africa Sports Academy and One Goal Football rubbed shoulders to climax the day’s fixture.

At the Unification Sports Pitch in Harbel on Saturday, 16 March SUSA FC and JABU FC entertain the crowd at 4:00 Pm.

And on Sunday, 17 March in Harbel at the same venue, Weintown United FC fight KA-CITY at 4:00PM.
