Liberia’s traditional sport of kickball is set to return to Margibi County, as the LKF Margibi Sub-Association has announced April 18, 2026 as the official start date for the new league season.
The announcement was made by the association’s chairperson, Roland Michael Tarr Nyumah, during an appearance on the Weekend End Super Sports program on Radio Margibi on Saturday, March 28.
According to Nyumah, the association has already received several letters of intent from clubs preparing to participate in the 2025–2026 season. This year’s league is expected to feature ten teams, including four new entrants: Kamara KC, United Angles KC, Shooting Star KC, and Mighty Power KC.
Nyumah also confirmed that all participating teams will be required to pay a registration fee of LD 12,000.00. He explained that the fee is necessary to cover operational costs, including compensation for match officials.
Ahead of the league kickoff, the association will host the 2026 Jamboree, scheduled for April 4–5. The Jamboree serves as a preseason tournament, allowing teams to prepare for the upcoming campaign. God’s Favor KC won last year’s edition, securing their first major trophy.
Following the Jamboree, the 2026 Super Cup will take place on April 12. The match will feature league champions Fuamah Girls KC against knockout champions Dream Girls KC.
Fuamah Girls KC, based in Bong County, are the defending league champions. Their title win marked the club’s first major trophy since its establishment and highlights their growing presence in Margibi County’s competitive kickball scene.
