Two LNP officers seen on camera looting during Saturday’s enforcement of court eviction order of the CDC headquarters have been disrobed and placed under immediate investigation by the authorities of the Liberia National Police.
A LNP statement posted on the Police official Facebook page on August 23, 2025, did not name the two police officers being disrobed and investigation but said their “interdiction” is “for alleged unethical conduct”.
“They have been forwarded to the Professional Standards Department for investigation. The outcome of the investigation will be made public upon completion, in line with the LNP’s commitment to transparency and accountability,” the LNP statement concluded.
The Civil Law Court ‘A’, at the Temple of Justice has ordered the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) part of former President George Manneh Weah to vacate its national headquarters in Monrovia’s Congo Town suburb immediately, but CDC’s lawyers have taken exception to the ruling.
The property, spanning 4.23 acres, has been legally affirmed to belong to the Barnard family estate.
Ahead of this morning enforcement, the LNP, some Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) supporters are threatening to prevent the police action. STANDOFF LOOMING: Liberian Police Poised To Effect Court Order To Evict Weah’s CDC HQ Saturday – News Public Trust
